Lila Elliott
Lila has been my best buddy since, oh, about the 8th grade.
Our friendship has survived the crazy hyperactive weirdness of middle school,
the manic-depressive hyperactive weirdness of high school and the growing
and changing of college thousands of miles apart. I think we've made it;
we're going to be friends forever. At this point, there's not much that could
happen that would make me want to stop calling her at 1 in the morning or
whenever I feel like chatting. Because we grew up together, we have so many
of the same mannerisms, jokes and attitudes that talking to her is like talking
to a (more patient, wise and accepting) version of myself.
This is Lila in a biology lab at Oberlin College, where
she graduated in May. According to the Oberlin website, she is "investigating
the possible role of calcium ions in the pairing of Monodelphis domestica
sperm."
